Warning

When making these edits please avoid changing any settings e.g. anything in the design and advance tabs. Your web designer most likely will not want you to change their design without consulting them because you may undo hours of work which they will charge you to fix.

Actions – WordPress backend

  1. Go to the website you wish to edit.
  2. Next type in wp-admin next to your URL in the address bar e.g. your-site.com/wp-admin.
  3. Put in your login details and click login.
  4. Next click pages or posts in the sidebar on the left.
  5. Hover over the page or post you want to edit and click “Edit”.
  6. The three lines locate on the left of the module you want to edit.
  7. Depending on the module you are editing you can change different things. I advise you to only change text which will be displayed in text boxes.
  8. Click “Save & Exit”.
  9. Click “Preview Changes” to the right of the screen.
  10. Here you can see what it will look on the site.
  11. If you like what you see then go back to the tab you were just at and click update.
  12. You’re done.

Actions – WordPress frontend

  1. Go to the website you wish to edit.
  2. Next type in wp-admin next to your URL in the address bar e.g. your-site.com/wp-admin.
  3. Put in your login details and click login.
  4. Then click the website name located at the top left of WordPress.
  5. Click “Enable Visual Builder”
  6. A screen may pop up saying “Welcome To The Divi Builder”. It gives you two options; one being to “Start Building”, the other to “Start the Tour”. If you want further instructions on more features in Divi the tour is the way to do that but remember the warning at the beginning, if you’re not confident don’t make any changes that go beyond text.
  7. If you want to keep following this then click start building.
  8. Next hover over a piece of text you want to edit and click on the text. Then you will be able to edit the text in the desired area.
  9. Once you’re done you can save ether by clicking the circle with the three dots in the middle of it and then clicking the button saying “save” and then clicking “Exit Visual Builder”. Or you can click “Exit Visual Builder” without clicking “save” and it will give you the options to either “Discard & Exit” or “Save & Exit”.
  10. You’re Done.
